Pompano Beach Seafood Festival is here!

One of our favorite events, the Pompano Beach Seafood Festival is celebrating its 30th year. We’ll be there and we hope you will, too. This festival raises funds for a lot of non-profits serving Pompano and offers the crowds great food, vendors, drinks and two stages of amazing music packed into three fun-filled days. Don’t miss this one. It brings out so many people and the dogs love being on the sand and visiting with everyone. There’s lots of information about the scheduled events, parking, the bands, etc on the official website, www.pompanobeachseafoodfestival.com Jerry & I are anxious to see Mike Pinera & Blues Image who used to play at a bar he and I frequented when we were dating. And Grand Funk Railroad is the main attraction Saturday night – talk about a blast from the past! The music and food are always awesomFOG at Pompano Beach Seafood Festival 2013 (5 of 6)e at this event.

General Admission is $15 for anyone over 12 and no coolers or pets are allowed. It’s a lot of fun and entertainment for that price. BUT- if you sign up and work a shift at our tent, you may bring your greyhoud (one human per dog at least) and you’ll have free admission. You’ll probably still have to pay for parking. We generally have a cooler there for cold water. Please let me know ahead of time if you want to work the tent so we can schedule it. Space is limited. Show hours are Friday (4/25), 5 pm to10pm, Saturday (4/26), 10am to10pm, and Sunday (4/27) 11am to 8pm. We generally do 4 or 5 hour shifts but we can be flexible. So, Friday is basically one shift, 5 to 10. Saturday is 10 to 2, 2 to 6 & 6 to 10. Sunday is 11 to 3:30 or so and 3:30 to close which is usually a little earlier than 8. But, as I said, we can be flexible. We’ll watch your dog while you check out the show, too. (No non-greyhounds, please) And we will have a couple of kennel dogs there, too, for you to hold.

The Festival is at the newly refurbished Pompano Beachfront, one block north of Atlantic on AIA. We are usually at the head of the boardwalk on the South end of show, right close to the road. They try to get us under trees and in the shade. The organizers are just wonderful to us! Call Michelle at 954-937-9663 or email at fogdogs@comcast.net to let us know you’re coming. See you there!
