John’s Happy Tales Report
7/17/17 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The FoG Kennel.

Don’t forget, Dinner with the Dogs, this Thursday evening, from 6:30 P. M. until 9:30 P.M. at the Hollywood Jaycee’s Hall, 2930 Hollywood Boulevard, in Hollywood. We will be there with Girl Scout Troop 10102, who will also be holding a 50/50 raffle to benefit the South Florida Wildlife Care Center, with whom they are working this year. This is our biggest and probably our last inside event this summer. It is a fund raiser, so bring your wallet and your appetite, we will feed you and will even have a buffet set up for your hounds. It’s greyhounds only, please RSVP Michelle, one dog per human, so if you have more than one greyhound, bring along a friend to escort them. The website has all the information, including the driving directions. I am told you need to be heading east on Hollywood Boulevard to get there, so check out our website for directions and all the information. We are providing the basics for the food, compliments of Maurice and you may bring whatever dish you are famous for, or just like to make. In keeping with our family tradition of sweets, we will be bringing the chocolate chip derby pie and some brownies, which should make a couple people happy at least. It’s air conditioned, so no heat, no mosquitos, just good food and good times with our old and new friends.

Our two ‘special needs’ dogs, Kango, with the vision problem, and Taylor, the big white dog with the gimpy back leg, are now in their new homes. Kango went in and was acting like he’d been there all his life, and Taylor has even made great strides in mastering his stairs, so there is hope for everyone in this world, all it takes is good hearts and a little patience and elbow grease. We wish both of them and their families many years of love, happiness, and good health. In the upside-down news department, we now have more girls than boys in the kennel. Only two boys at the moment, Logan and Boogie, and five girls, Frozen, Fufu, Mattie, Stormy, and Dee Dee. Dee Dee was just returned, she is eleven years old, and lost her home to human family problems. You can check out the website for more information, or check out Scott’s blog, Dusty and Me, which has or will have information on all of them as soon as he gets to meet them and check them out. Due to some serious pain in the knee section after a rough therapy session, I’m going to pull the plug on this week’s jabber for now. Don’t forget to come by on Thursday night for our Dinner with the Dogs, you can also help some nice girl scouts help out a great cause, you can get some food, your hounds can also enjoy their own private buffet. We love to see our old friends both four and two legged, and as if that wasn’t enough, you can even check out my new knee, which should be very exciting. Have a greyt week, don’t bite anyone, and we’ll see you on Thursday.
