Adoptions have slowed down quite a bit, as has been traditional in the past during the hot summer months. With all the heat, it seems that people, animals, and businesses slow down. We did have one bright spot; Akira has found her forever home. Steve and Robyn have opened their hearts and their home to this handsome young guy. Steve is the owner/trainer of Charlie’s Canine College and a long time adopter of our greyhounds. Miss Vicky should be shedding her cast very soon and will be looking for her forever home. She is a beautiful little red brindle girl and will probably be out and adopted in a heartbeat. If you try to pet her, she will slide down on the floor and roll over for you to pet her tummy, and she loves people.

Michelle is starting a new section on the website for resources. She intends to make it a place where she can put all the little links and notes to help adopters find the information and companies so they can take good care of their dogs without breaking their banks and they can know where to start looking when they want to buy something or do something for their hounds. It will be a good place to list things, places, and businesses that she is asked about all the time. We already have Catherine’s List of Greyhound friendly restaurants and resorts on the website. So often places will say that they are ‘dog friendly’, but limit the weight of the dog to 25 pounds, or it’s an outside restaurant with no shade for the dogs. Just neat little things that come in handy and very useful during the years spent with our hounds. Many of us love to take our hounds out whenever possible and this section will help with that and all aspects of their needs. The items will be added in bits and pieces so check the website periodically if you can.

We’ve currently got about nine dogs available for adoption. We are located in Sunrise, you can check out the dogs on the website or directly with Michelle or Jerry. You can arrange for a visit at the kennel at your convenience and it’s entirely possible that you can arrange for a visit from one or two of our adoptables at your own house, and of course, at your convenience. We are always there to offer support to our alumni, greyhounds are a very special breed and the greyhound community is made up of some very special people also. Come check us and the hounds out and you will see what I mean. Have a greyt week, shall return next week with a brand new story.
