It was a quiet week as far as movement in our kennel. No adoptions or applications, although we had several people showing interest at the meet and greet at the Pet Supermarket, and even a worker at the Beverly Hills where we had our gathering last night. The meet and greet was again excellent as we came home with a lot of donated food and goodies. We currently have nine adoptables according to my count, the newest being Ms. Vickie, who is tiny, cute, and just something special. She will be up for adoption if her injury shows enough healing. She will have to be adopted locally because she will have to have some follow up visits to the doctor, but she’s going to make a beautiful pet for someone, Michelle says she is special.

We had the gathering last evening at the Cooper City Beverly Hills. It was lightly attended, whether it was because of the recent shooting senselessness, or the heat, or people just couldn’t accept that it was just a gathering and not a fund raiser, is unsure, but we had a grey time and a great meal. We are entering the hot part of the year, and it was warm, but we were happy to see the alumni. Old timers Rainey and Slash showed up, one of our latest adoptions, Roscoe, showed up with his famous radar ears, and Kay, who is a white beauty, was adopted so quickly that I have nothing written on her except her March birthday. That was three years ago and she’s still as beautiful as ever. Of course all the hounds brought their humans, and we were glad to see them too. Two of our adoptables , Lucy and Denim, were on hand to further sharpen their social skills. Slash was also sharpening his pickpocket skills; he deftly relieved me of one of those nice Beverly Hill rolls while I wasn’t paying attention. It was a small gathering, but we all had a greyt time.

Ok, that’s all the news that’s fit to print at the moment. As previously stated, I believe we still have about nine dogs available for adoption. For complete information you can check the website or contact Michelle or Jerry and they can give you all the details. You are welcome to stop by the kennel, unlike the old days of five hours only on the weekend, you can call and schedule an appointment at your convenience or even better, arrange for a visit to your home to meet them on your turf. Michelle can usually arrange a meeting at your convenience, so what better way to meet them. Don’t forget, Billy, Harry, Max, Akira, Asia, Ironman, Andy, and our new girl Vickie, or Vicky, are waiting to meet you. And we currently have Denim, who qualifies for our black dog month program throughout June. Adopt her and it’s fifty bucks off the adoption fee plus you’ll get a nice doggie bag full of gifts. Currently we do not have any cat tolerant dogs available, but are hoping to bring some in as soon as we can. Have a greyt week, remember, it’s summer and hot, so keep your hounds cool and safe.
