John’s Happy Tales Report
5/25/15 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The Fog Kennel.

Otto

Otto

Vacation is over, time to get back to greyhound business. Biggest lesson taken from vacation, don’t visit coastal Virginia, namely Jamestown, after May 1st if you can help it. Little thing called Mayflies. Similar to horseflies, only more attitude. There’s a tremendous amount of history in that area if you are into that sort of thing. The Tigertail Lake party is coming up on May 31st. It’s a semi private lake, we have it for the greyhounds from one to three o’clock. The last time I was there, we had a beautiful breeze; there is shade also, so hopefully the heat won’t be a factor, especially for only two hours. FoG will have towel rentals so that you can dry off the dogs without having to lug your own wet towels home in the car and it will help offset the cost of the party. There will also be a couple of raffles. Dr. Willie is also a possible attendee; he’s been working with our dogs for so long and knows a lot of them. He is at Extra Care Animal Hospital now and they have a promotion where if you friend them on Facebook, you will get a free nail clipping, I’m assuming that is meaning your dog and not you personally. It’s shaping up to be quite an event and a lot of people are making plans for next weekend, so if you can, come on out and meet old friends and new, four legs and two, and if you are in the need for collars, our girl Lynne the Collar Lady will also be attending. Michelle will also be at Pet Supermarket this coming Saturday, the one on East Sunrise Boulevard, probably from ten to two o’clock.

Rocky

Rocky

My latest list of available greyhounds for adoption shows seven dogs. We have Rocky and Chester, two five year old boys. Otto is our ten year old senior citizen looking for his final forever home. Kingsley is our little two year old shy guy, and Buddy is now available for adoption. He’s three years old, had his broken leg surgically repaired and ready for love. He will never have a normal looking leg, but he has no pain and what he lacks in physical beauty with his leg, he more than makes up for with personality and character. Wednesday and Dee Dee have are new arrivals, Dee Dee is a nine year old lady, I’m assuming she has been returned for some reason, and Wednesday is a two year old girl that arrived last Wednesday. You can find out all about any of the adoptables by checking our website or calling Michelle or Jerry and arranging to see them for yourself, live, up close, and personal. Also, information on upcoming events, including the Lake Party and Pet Store meet and greets can be found on the website or contacting the kennel. Don’t forget the party next weekend, come on out and have some fun, those of us that attended the last splash party remember the good times, minus a couple skinned knees and butts, so try to stop by and say hello. Meanwhile, don’t forget it’s hot (how could we forget?), no dogs left in cars and if you see one in that situation, don’t stand by and do nothing, notify someone who can help or take care of it yourself if it’s a life and death situation. Stay cool and hope to see you next Sunday afternoon.
