John’s Happy Tales Report
3/16/15 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The Fog Kennel.

As of my latest data, the FOG kennel has now expanded to eight available dogs. It’s a shame that we got some new ones in at the end of Ren-Fest instead of at the beginning, but that’s how it happened. We currently have five guys and three girls available, ages ranging from just under two years old to a ripe old twelve years young. Our colors are white and black times two, white and fawn, brindle, and black. This is the best description I can give because I have yet to see them. I have been incapacitated the past five weeks, to coincide with Ren-Fest. You can contact the kennel if you think you might be interested and I will try to list what I know about them below, but it’s always best to come over and see for yourself, and it was, and may still be possible for Michelle or Jerry to arrange a home visit to your house even. The website has everything about the dogs and what’s going on, so, as always, it’s best to check it out.

Ren-Fest is history, I believe they said this was the best or one of the best ever and we got to show our adoptables and meet a lot of people in the process and introduce them to the retired greyhound and their potential as a pet. Next up, the last weekend in March, will be Horses and Hounds. Our annual event where you can bring your greyhound to mix and mingle with dozens of others that will be attending and there will also be horses to visit. Last year they had a horse show, but I do not know if one is scheduled for this one. I feel like the old Anthony and the Imperials hit song, ‘I’m on the Outside Looking In’, I haven’t been out and about and if FOG were the sun, I’d probably be Pluto or one of the planets on the outer fringes. But, I still like to report what I do know, and you can always get the info you want by contacting Michelle or Jerry. So take a look at Horses and Hounds and try to make it out, it’s only for a few hours, they will have the famous silent auctions and doggie portraits are complementary with donations, so there will be plenty of food, drink, and four legged company to enjoy.

Sky (Jake) & Tulip

Sky (Jake) & Tulip

Bella and Bruno are doing excellent together in their new home, Bruno was the star or one of the stars of Ren-Fest, his human family is excellent, fenced in yard and the humans are even cooking for them, sounds like a better deal than a lot of people are getting. I am happy for both, but especially for Bella, she waited so long and she finally hit the jackpot. Jake also did pretty well for himself, landed in Sugarloaf Key, beautiful home, beautiful humans, and a cute sister named Tulip, so he’s off and running in his new life, and so far he’s winning. We might even have a picture of that one if our webmaster cooperates.

Rocky

Ok, here we go, my favorite part, although somewhat limited, don’t forget, you can get all the official scoop on any of these just by contacting us, M or J will be glad to fill you in. Benny is a five year old black guy. He’s a recent return but not because of anything he did. He is house experienced, well behaved and ready for a smooth transition into his forever home. Max is a white and black senior, ten years old. He also is a recent return, through no fault of his own. He was living with his girlfriend Molly, who has since been adopted, so he would like to join a nice family too. Rocky is five years old, white and fawn, and very energetic. He’s not for the faint of heart; he would probably do well with a nice yard where he can run. Kingsley is just a puppy, eighteen months old, beautiful brindle, not a very big guy and wasn’t destined to be a runner. He is very shy, he’s looking for someone with a big heart and probably a bit of patience to bring out his real personality. The new guy is Duke, he’s white and black and three years old. That’s what I know about him so far. Daisy and Fancy are the two new girls, they are both black and two years old. Macy is our most recent return, family break up, once again not her fault, but she also suffers. It would be fabulous for someone to give her a nice soft place to lay her head and call her own for her remaining days. She’s twelve years old, so it won’t be a long term relationship, but she deserves to finish out her career in a real home too, so maybe someone might even foster her for her remaining time. All the dogs are spayed or neutered and ready to go, the new arrivals have not been cat tested yet and if felines are a factor in your selection, check with us and we can get them tested with our professional cats, or even possibly yours. Ok, so there’s this week’s fish wrap, the FOG gospel according to John. Have a greyt week and don’t forget about the Horses and Hounds.
