John’s Happy Tales Report
12/4/17 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The FoG Kennel.

Last Sunday we had another successful gathering at the Dog Dude Ranch. I am told there was a big enough group to be interesting and fun, yet enough time to visit. We had that great big corral and the dogs responded by hanging around the humans most of the time. Typical. The weather was beautiful but the shade trees were still greatly appreciated. I missed this one because I decided to go and watch UM get thumped up in Charlotte, would have done better going to the Dude Ranch. Hughey’s dad Gene, took some pictures and I think they’re posted on the website. Gene not only took some pictures but he also brought a ton of goodies for the hounds for which we are very grateful for, thank you again Gene.

Christmas is just three weeks away, and now appearing on our website, under the title ‘Greyt Holiday Gift Guide’, is our houndly gift guide for those of you who traditionally or even untraditionally, bring or donate gifts for our inmates. We do not have a large budget and any and all gifts are always greatly appreciated any time during the year, but especially during the season of giving, and I can safely say that a hundred percent of all proceeds go directly to the hounds. Personally, I donate my entire annual salary directly to the hounds, unfortunately I’m only paid 52 attaboys and 8 marshmallows a year for my work. It is truly a labor of love, as it is with all of our staff, but the joy and satisfaction we receive when we get them a loving home is truly priceless.

Coming up this weekend we have on Saturday the Adopt a Pet Event in Parkland, and on Sunday, a gathering at the Flamingo Road Nursery. There is information on the website for both these events. I will be in Nashville testing out the low twenties temperatures that are forecast there for the coming week, but the rest of you are welcome to join Michelle and the rest of the herd, both events look to be a lot of fun for the hounds and the people. I failed to mention it last time, but I won’t this time. Our collar girl, Lynne, a former Ms. Georgia (to me at least), has been invited to the Flamingo Road Nursery gathering and may make an appearance. She has those greyt Martingale collars and also will custom design one for you if you have such a notion. We were contemplating a nice green and orange UM collar for Diffy, but UM has not looked too great the past couple weeks and he already has a NY Giants collar that he actually refuses to wear, and who can blame him? It’s not that the collar is ugly, it is great, but the Giants are really bad, they even won the Quasimodo look alike contest in Coconut Grove last month. If Lynn can’t make the connection, she has an Etsy store, that you can check out to get an idea of her work.

This computer has decided it does not want to work with me without giving me a hard time, so I shall wrap it up for this week. Have a greyt rest of the week, keep your hounds safe, enjoy the season, and don’t bite anyone.
