John’s Happy Tales Report
10/3/16 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The FoG Kennel.

Hooray, October is finally here, the days are mild, not hot, the nights are cool, the sky is clear blue, and there’s not a care in the world. Somewhere up north maybe, down here, it’s business as usual, hot, humid, and now a storm on the horizon. You’ve been down here long enough, you know what to do, and if you don’t, there will be plenty of exposure on tv, so hopefully next week everyone is still safe and sound.

Another successful Saturday at the Pet Supermarket, which greatly benefits the food supply for the hounds, so whatever shortcomings we may have, at least they won’t starve to death for a while. There’s going to be a customer appreciation Halloween Party on the 22nd of October, complete with Halloween costume contest and a bunch of other fun things. We are skipping the 15th and will be there on the 22nd for the party. Come on by and join in on the fun and festivities if you can, it’s our favorite Pet Supermarket, on University Drive, just north of Sunrise Boulevard on the east side of the street and we will be there between ten and two o’clock. Don’t forget THIS WEEKEND, Barktoberfest at Quiet Waters Park. There will animal groups and vendors both days, we will have a booth both days, so stop by and say hello to Michelle. It’s a buck and a half per human and five bucks for dogs in the water area. Starting at 9 o’clock they have one hour sessions for all dogs, until two o’clock, and on Sunday at three o’clock, we have our private ‘hounds only’ session. It’s a lot of fun, and don’t forget to bring towels, they do tend to get wet, as do the humans.

I’d like to say a big thank you to Mac of Doggie Doo Rite. He is a professional Pet Waste Removal Service and he comes to pick up poo four times a week and keeps our yard clear. He’s awesome. You gotta pick up the poo or it not only stinks (and the neighbors complain) but it breeds worms and critters that your dogs bring back into the house and they absorb the bacteria back into their systems through the pads of their feet. In the beginning Jerry tried to be the pooper scooper but he gave up. It’s a tough stinky job and we love Mr. Mac. His phone is 954-261-8601, email is , his prices are reasonable and his services are wonderful.

That is directly from Michelle and I couldn’t think of a way to say it better myself, so I just went ahead and did it verbatim. It helps keep the kennel running clean and efficiently, so I figured I give a shout out and a thank you to Mac, if you have multiple animals this service might come in very handy.

Billy is now officially in his new forever home and is doing greyt so far. That was Friday morning, and on Friday evening, Mandy entered her new home, complete with two feline sisters. Last report on her is that she’s doing very good so far. Since two went out, two new ones came in. Ralph is just in, fresh off the racing circuit, and not even injured. He is a tall, black, three year old with a Roman nose, and super friendly. His profile is up already, and, last I heard, Pet Finder is up to date. Also, we have the return of the Darla. Darla is the absolute most insecure dog we’ve ever had according to Michelle. Liz, where are you now? We could sure use you. She will be a special needs dog, it will take a special experienced owner to help her. She is a beautiful girl, but she needs a lot of reassurance and for sure, a fenced in yard. If you are interested, you can contact Michelle about her.

That just about covers it for this week. Have a greyt week, try to make it out to the splash party this Sunday, we do pack a lot of fun into just an hour of crazy time. If you have any questions about any of the dogs or events, or anything for that matter, don’t hesitate to contact Michelle or Jerry, and don’t forget, we can usually arrange a meeting with you at your house and your convenience to meet any of our adoptables, so keep that in mind also.
