John’s Happy Tales Report
10/31/16 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The FoG Kennel.

Happy Halloween to you and yours. Don’t forget to keep your leashes tight if you’re out and about tonight, and keep an eye on anybody outside in the yard this evening, there are people who like to scare animals too, so maybe outdoor activities this evening should be short and sweet. Diffy is afraid of the wind, garbage cans, and tree limbs blowing, no telling what a goblin would due to his mind.

We won’t be at Pet Supermarket on Saturday this coming weekend, but if you are planning to be out and about on Sunday and would like to stop by, check the website because we may substitute Sunday for Saturday. Hate to miss a meet and greet there, we always have a greyt time and always come away with goodies for the hounds. For those of you looking forward a bit into next year, the annual Horses and Hounds will be held on Sunday, February 5th, 2017. A little closer in November, on the 12th, we’ll have a booth at the Green Expo at Quiet Waters Park. It’s all about reuse, recycle, and reduce, so why not show our recycled dogs.

November will also be Auggie Doggie Month, we’re planning on having Mike from Groom Waggin stop by to do nail trimming and take care of your dog’s manicure and pedicure needs. Also, Larry Warsh, from Warsh Photography, will be set up to take your family portraits just in time for the holidays. I used to think that was silly, and now, years later, looking at some of the old Christmas cards brings back some beautiful memories through the tears, of days when we were all younger, healthier, and seemingly happier. As I look at the photos I have here of my first two dogs, with Santa Clause, and the photo of three others at the Marlin’s game, it brings back beautiful memories. I’ve finally come to realize that I am one of those people who can be accused of loving my animals more than my fellow man. This seems like the appropriate time to mention that I’ve been reminded to make sure I remind everyone to get out and vote next week. I guess it’s kind of like your garden, whether you use cow manure or bull manure, it’s your choice, but don’t forget to fertilize and water. May need something stronger than water to drink before, during, and after this election, but get it done. It may be a political message, but at least it wasn’t a paid political message. As soon as we have the dates finalized, you’ll be hearing more on our Auggie Doggie adventure.

The yard sale was washed out, thanks to the inclement weather. Will try again as soon as we get regrouped. We have some higher end items listed on Craig’s List, if you are looking for doggie related items, crates, pens, etc., even if it’s not for a greyhound, you can check that out also. Not much activity on the adoption front this past week. The new brother and sister act have received some looks already and the girl, Gert, has been chosen already. Her brother Lee is still available, he’s a smaller sized guy. You can check out all of the inmates on our website or Pet Finder, or you can visit them in person at the kennel, all you have to do is make an appointment, usually can be arranged at your convenience. You can even arrange for an in-home visit, again at your convenience, and see how they look on your couch, or roaming your kitchen. Michelle and Jerry will be awaiting your call, and our adoptables are always glad to meet you. Have a safe week, keep your goblins close and your hounds closer.
