John’s Happy Tales Report
10/17/16 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The FoG Kennel.

Yard sales and parties are the theme for mid-October. Last Saturday we had a yard sale at Beth’s house. We netted about $120, but the really good news is that a lot, lot, lot of small stuff went, which made just about enough room in the storage for a small, semi navigable path through it, which also enabled the discovery of a bag of stuffies, which is a great morale booster for the inmates. They sleep very nicely after they’ve worn themselves out chewing on a nice fresh stuffie. We now have a very happy kennel, if the warden is happy, the inmates are happy, it rolls downhill. We now have a kennel yard sale scheduled for Saturday, October 29th, 9 AM until 2 PM, at 2621 N.W. 105 Lane, Sunrise. We will have a ton of large dog stuff (not all of it greyhound stuff), but large dog nevertheless. There will be a bunch of house items mixed in with the raised feeders, dog bowls, and other doggish items. Also included will be 8 pieces of artwork from the art auction, an assortment of non-greyhound sized metal crates, and a bunch of beautiful dog sweaters and sweatshirts that don’t fit greyhounds.

Also coming up this Saturday is the annual Pet Supermarket dog Halloween Party. We will be there from ten in the morning until two o’clock, at the Pet Supermarket on University Drive just north of Sunrise Boulevard on the east side of the street. Jill’s parties are legendary, at least with the local dog folk, and we will be there with one of our adoptables. There is also a costume party and a good time is usually had by all, so drop by if you get a chance.

On the dog front, I have not heard of any returns, so that should mean that all the recent adoptions are going well so far. Max, our almost ‘special needs’ dog, has just gone out to a beautiful family that is home most of the time and is willing to work with him and give him lots of love and attention, so we’re all keeping our fingers and dewclaws crossed for him, he’s a great guy, he just wants a loving family to be close and personal all of the time, so good luck to them. Currently we have none, zero, nada, zip, that is no dogs in the kennel that are not spayed/neutered, and there are no cast wearing dogs. Everyone has been ‘fixed’ in more ways than one, and all are ready to go to their new loving homes. All you have to do is stop by the kennel and check them out. Orrrrrrr, it’s entirely possible that we can bring one or two to your casa for an in home inspection and meeting. At your convenience of course. This is neat and something we could never do when we had the big kennel in Hialeah, open only on the weekends, so if you can’t or don’t want to come to the kennel, contact us and quite possibly the (a couple of them anyway) can come to you. These dogs make beautiful pets, ask anyone who’s ever had one, they can tell you, or better yet, meet them and check them out in person, you just may fall in love. Have a greyt week, keep your animals and yourself safe.
