6/9/13 Mostly Happy Tales From Inside And Around The Kennel Told Quickly Because Sometimes The Dogs Are Gone Before They Arrive.

Fine As Wine

Fine As Wine

If it’s at all possible for me to be brief, this will be the best chance yet to find out, it’s late Sunday, I’m ready to start a little road trip early in the morning and if this doesn’t get done tonight, it won’t get done, which will possibly result in the world coming to a complete stop and all the cars flying off the edge. Or maybe not. It was a very nice weekend resulting in dog movement, which is what we’re all about.

Fuzzy's Boy Blue

Fuzzy’s Boy Blue

From the right place at the right time department, we present USS Lime Light, arrived during the week, got one look Saturday and that was all it took, she’s now in her new forever home with a very happy family. Scratch her off the list, if she even made it on. CRT David hit the jackpot; he’ll be moving in with Honey and Sunny both alumni of ours and currently living the good life with their loving family. CRT Amy, our number one seniority dog will be going to a loving home also. She’s listed as a special needs dog because she’s very shy and introverted and would probably need some extra TLC and that’s exactly what she has in store for her with her new owner. We have happy endings for even the guys and gals that need a little extra help getting placed. Everyone will get a home no matter how long it takes, so it’s just a matter of when not if the right person will walk into each one of our dog’s life and heart. Several others got some hot looks and could be on the verge of adoption next weekend and one or two families will be bringing their dogs in to check for compatibility with one of our adoptables.

M’s Pretty Lori

M’s Pretty Lori

We have no returns this week, which is always what I like to report, except that we do live in the real world and real things and circumstances do occur, so it can’t always be that way, but it’s a feel good weekend when it happens.

Dynamic Macy

Dynamic Macy

A blue boy and a beautiful White and Brindle guy arrived down retirement lane this week. Fuzzy’s Boy Blue is a knockout blue, true to his name. He ran over a hundred fifty races and raced in Grade A and Stakes races; we can safely say he earned his retirement papers. Boy Blue answers to ‘Duke’ around the kennel; he’s four years old and a very solid eighty pounds of muscle. SE’s Jango is a solid three year old with over fifty races, also reaching Grade A and Stakes competition, so if you’re looking for a dog who took his racing career seriously, you can put these two on the top of your must see list. We currently have a full house, just about any kind of greyhound you can draw up, large, small, strong and solid, petite and cute, white to black and everything brindle in between, from Black N Black, who turns 2 on June 10th, to our return Golden Girls, KL Fine as Wine, Dynamic Macy, and the irrepressible M’s Pretty Lori, all seven years old and returns through no fault of their own, but still willing and ready to go out and find the new loves of their lives. We’d love to see Macy and Lori go to a home together, they’ve been living together forever and would fit in together very easily. Remember, with returns you get pets that are usually experienced in real home living, and circumvent a lot of adjustment issues that might come with the younger dogs.

Ok sports fans, I’m off and running to Pittsburgh, have a great week. Those of you that haven’t already done so, research these beautiful animals that make fabulous pets, then come down to our kennel and check them out in person. We have an excellent and loving staff, you will always find volunteers and alumni hanging around the play yard and kennel and they can give you firsthand information and answer just about any questions you might have. Nothing like getting the information from people who have already been there.
