John’s Happy Tails Report
6/30/14 Mostly Happy Tales From Anywhere We Can Get Them.

Hopefully the great wanderers will be back this week and we can have some real updates as to the who, what, and wherefores of the FOG. The ship has docked and they should be making their way back to civilization as we know it, and then we can start the next phase in the ongoing saga of Flealess in FOGeattle, or how FOG got it’s groove back. This weekend will be kind of empty, the first non-celebration of July 4th at the kennel in a long time. Diffy is missing his weekend playtime with his friends at the kennel. The dog parks just are not the same. We need to make plans for the old gang to get together again, even if it is the hottest part of the year. So it looks like the grey community is on its own for the July fourth celebration and remember that Friday will be a day of loud noises, so keep your friends close and your greyhounds even closer and secure, many of them do not like the loud noises associated with July 4th, so keep that in mind as the weekend approaches. I will miss the weekend celebration, but I don’t ever miss having to go out and help look for runaway dogs, so please, please be careful.

We are now up to five adoptable dogs as two more will be returned at the end of the week. Once again, not the dog’s fault, but they will still be the one’s having to pay. Atascocita Fain and Atascocita Johan, who went out together, came back together and will be available for adoption by the end of the weekend I believe. Both are males and both are two years old. Joan O’Brien had some seizure problems during the week, but the last I heard she was doing well and the problem may have been medication because of a slight weight change. Hopefully that will be solved and she will be back to normal, as she was doing very well before this happened.

Hopefully also, the Michelle and Jerry team will return and give us some good news or at least some good updates as to what’s going on, and take the pressure off of me. The most exciting thing I have to report is that Diffy went to the dog park and plopped down in the only mud puddle that there was. We went to see Jersey Boys and I have to report that there wasn’t one greyhound anywhere to be seen during the whole film. It’s a great movie, plenty of bad language, but it’s about the Four Seasons, a singing group from my era, so it doesn’t have great universal appeal as the total of about eight of us in the whole theater would testify to, and it doesn’t have anything to do with greyhounds. So, stay tuned, and maybe by the end of the week there will be plenty of news and excitement to start July off with a bang that won’t spook the dogs. Have a great week and remember, if you have to upchuck, try to hit the towel and not the bed or the rug. That’s a personal message to Diffy.
