FoG Fun (with Fundraising)

We have some really fun things coming up that can raise some much needed funds for FoG. I hope each of you will commit to working a bit with us at these events so we can keep up the level of care that we give our hounds. Times are tough. We know you might not be able to write a big check right now. But can you give us an afternoon, a morning or a day? It all adds up for the dogs.

First up – Horses & Hounds – There’s more about this amazing day on the blog entry below. We’ll be at Simpatico Farms as guests of Jeri Caprio & Jane Bisline on Sunday April 10th, 2:30 to 5 pm. This is sure to be a wonderful party in a very special place and we’ll have food and drinks, dog portraits, parades and “contests”, raffles & auctions. It is at 11399 Piping Plover Road, Lake Worth, 33449 and it is soooo worth the drive from anywhere. A beautiful setting for some beautiful dogs!

The following weekend – wow so soon? – is the Pompano Beach Seafood Festival. This is a three day (Fri night, Sat & Sun) Seafood festival, craft show, music fest, and big time party on the sands of Pompano Beach. It is an amazing opportunity for FoG to meet potential new adopters but it does take a lot of volunteers at the tent and people willing to transport dogs between Hialeah and Pompano Beach! We’ll have more detail shortly – but save the dates! April 15th, 16th & 17th.

And then we get into Easter time and some serious fundraising which we desperately need. Just before Easter (Good Friday 4/22 & Saturday 4/23) is a major grocery shopping time and we will have a team at the Publix At Sawgrass Center, 5950 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs. We’ll definitely be working it on Saturday.  Friday is kind of dependent on getting enough volunteers. Please come man the table and bring a dog or two. It’s high energy, fun work and you’ll love seeing the results. We ask for cash donations, of course, but we also offer customers a “wish list” of things we can use at the kennel that are available inPublix. Last time was awesome seeing the donation tubes fillup and the tables piling up  with peanut butter,  veggies and nilla wafers ! Join us.  You won’t regret it!

So be sure to get in touch with Steve Holloway at volunteer@friendsofgreyhounds.org and let him know what you can help with. Can’t wait to see you there!
