>The Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held on Nov. 10 was a huge success. The food was just AWESOME! Everybody brought their best dishes and we ate till we thought we’d burst. And Jan Corcoran, who handled our decorations and tablescapes pulled in some major favors from vendors. The orchid centerpieces with the flickering candles were just breathtaking. One of my favorite comments of the evening came from an adopter who had just attended his son’s $50,000 wedding and he said our centerpieces were far more beautiful! FoG may not have time to honor our volunteers and donors often, but when we do, we do it right! Our silent auction netted enough donations to cover all the expenses. A huge thank you to all who dug deep for those auctions. I hope everyone was tickled with what they won. There were some terrific prizes there. We were initially concerned about not having a band or entertainment but just as we figured, there’s lots to talk about when greyhound owners get together and I don’t think anyone felt left out. We even had the new crop of future volunteers there -Two babies & a toddler! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to pull the event together so perfectly and make the night so very special. If anyone took photos that night, please, please post them on Walgreens.com and let us know by using the “share this album” button. Send it to Fogdogs@comcast.net. We’ll put them all together at the kennel. Now – lets get working on Woofstock!
