Welcome to Friends of Greyhounds

Friends of Greyhounds is very pleased to tell you that we are no longer in business!!
Since the Florida greyhound tracks are closed, our adoption group is no longer necessary.
We have waited a long time and worked hard to get to this point. This is a very good thing!
We do not have any dogs to adopt or feed or take to the vet so we do not need donations.
Our charity has been dissolved.
Thank you so much for your years of support and friendship.
We are still here as friends for advice and any help you and your dogs may need.
Welcome and thank you for visiting our site. Based in South Florida, Friends of Greyhounds mission is to provide retired racing greyhounds with a caring environment and loving homes and to educate the public about these noble, loyal dogs. We are a final ray of hope for greyhounds that have no place to go after they retire from racing.

Our Dogs and Volunteers

We’ve placed retired greyhounds in great homes in Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Pompano, Coral Gables, Hollywood, Boca Raton, Delray Beach and everywhere in between and we’re very proud of the work we do. Come for a visit and get to know us.

The FoG Kennel has moved to Sunrise.

Since greyhound racing is done in South Florida, FoG does not have
any dogs from the track so we no longer hold ‘open house’ for adoptions.
We may occasionally receive dogs that are returned from adopters and
we will certainly make them available to be re-adopted as soon as possible.
